VINTAGE POSTCARD CHIPMUNK RED BERRIES NATURE PRESS WILDLIFE
A wildlife themed vintage postcard of an Eastern chipmunk keeping an eye on some red berries in a forest. This chipmunk postcard was published by Nature Press Post Cards and appears to have been produced sometime during the 1960s. On the back of the postcard is the following information: Chipmunk Tamias striatus - The Chipmunk lives underground in long tunnels. It has side tunnels, several exits, a toilet room and a bedroom stored full of many kinds of nuts and seeds. In the winter it stays below and has long sleeps atop its bed of dry leaves and goodies. But it does not hibernate all the time. Other times, it is awake and eating. If the winter is mild, it may come up for a short run. It may eat a little snow. By spring the bed has been eaten down to the bottom and the chipmunk's mattress of leaves is on the ground.
